3 weeks

How is my baby 3 weeks old already!?!
That seems crazy...I can't even think about our life 27 days ago... it seems like forever ago but yet at the same time its crazy that she has been here that long! CRAZY!!!

Outings

I forgot to post on our 1st outing...
We went out with Kaelyn and Lorin to lunch last week. It was a great lunch Riley slept through it all. Then... it was time to put the stroller back in the car. I had no problem taking it out and setting it up. BUT getting it back in was a NIGHTMARE!!! It took me about 1/2 hour before I threw it in the back of the car still open. Ryan showed me how to do it once... and never picked up the phone... so I am going to place the blame there!! haha!! It was crazy! There were so many buttons to get us confused. We had to treat ourselves to Dairy Queen once we got the stroller closed.



When I got back home we ended up doing a late night Target run. This was Riley's first time at TARGET!! What a treat!


On the way home we stopped at the Guilanos to say Hi! This was a very busy day for Riley.



Now I have gotten much better with the stroller. We have been out a little more.
On Sat. we went to see Grammy and Uncle Murphy!! Yummy! Grammy made her macaroni!



On Tues. we go to a MOMMY group in Bethel. This Tues. we met up with Grampy at Famous for lunch. Riley's first time to Famous!!!


Afterwards we had to take her first trip to Head Over Heals!! Yeah!! I have my little shopping buddy!


We are so happy to finally understand the stroller so we can get out and about!! :)

As we said...no more Silent Nights

As we said...no more Silent Nights
BUT she does like to sleep during the day.
Too bad I can't learn to nap when the sun is out.
(Ryan on the other hand, I think has had more sleep now that Riley is around. He uses the advice people gave as an excuse to nap. "Sleep when the baby sleeps." HA!)

I think whats so funny about Riley... she is so curious and loves looking around and taking it all in that sometimes she gets mad when she is falling asleep. She would rather be up and play then sleep. Too cute!

Riley's 1st Easter
The Easter Bunny visited both my parents and Ryans parents leaving an Easter Basket for Riley. Riley was so happy to see everyone! Grammy was sick at home with Uncle Murphy...we hope they feel better soon!! Nauni loves to smother her GranBabies with tons of kisses!!



At my parents house... Riley meet her cousin Julia for the 1st time. Julia is such a big girl holding her cousin!

Good Friday

Ryan didn't realize how good GOOD FRIDAY really was until Saturday night.

He thought it was a good time to help out with the late night feeding. I told him some of the tricks that I have learned when feeding Riley. Keep her upright for about 20 mins. after feeding was the big one I told him. Needless to say Ryan thought I was just making things up. A few mins. after her feeding, he decided to lay down with her. A few mins. after that you hear a big SPLAT! Miss Riley showed her daddy that he should listen to her mommy... Riley spit up all over Ryan and the bed. There goes the benefit of having Ryan help with the late night feeding... he went to the bathroom to clean up himself and Riley while I had to wake up and clean the bed. Riley was fussy the rest of the night and there went our night of sleeping.


Don't take your sleep for granted!!

Riley usually likes her sleep...and can sleep almost anywhere.

Here are just a few photos to keep you all happy. She is growing like a weed. Clothes are starting not to fit...and ones that were swimming on her now fit. CRAZY!!

She was 6.6 at birth.
Lost her 10% when we left and was 5.15
1 week was back to 6.6
at almost 2 weeks was 6.12
And yesterday ...day 18... she was weighed at 7.3
How big is Riley... SO BIG! (even for the little peanut)

Happy St. Patty's Day

One of Ryan's students got Riley this cute St. Patty's outfit. Thank you! We love it!!

Ryan read a shirt that he wanted to get Riley...

However...This year I will remind you all that St. Patrick was an Italian. :)

Last night was not a good night for Riley (1st time... we knew it would come sooner or later). She was up all night fussing... I guess that means we are going to lay low this St. Patty's Day. Have my favorite Irish DRINK to celebrate for us and Riley! :)

It is too cold to go play outside... so we put on some mittens and Little Riley laid out in the sun!

only up 2 times last night

Little Riley was such a good baby last night!
She let her mommy and daddy sleep!!
We went to bed after our last visitors and one more feeding at around 9.
Riley came for another feeding around 11:30 and then again around 3:30.
Thats it!!! Now we are waiting for her to wake up for another feeding...and its 8am.
She is sooo good!!!

We were up what felt like forever! Yesterday was such a busy day with so many visitors... oh yeah and giving birth.
The birth was told to me to be a fast birth for a first time birth.
The timeline:
Mild contractions started at 6.
Walking with Keri at the mall 7:30
Saw Spencer and call home from the mall to tell Ryan that this might be it. 9
Drive home to see Ryan playing guitar hero because he thought we were joking. 9:30
Packing up after Bobbi convinced Ryan it is the real thing. 10:30
Get to the hospital 11:30. To find out that I am only 1 cent. and 50% effaced.
Sent to walk the halls 12:00.
Water BREAK!!! That means I can finally be given the DRUGS! 1:30
*Drugs... most under-rated thing! Why would anyone would do it without the drugs? OMG! What a difference!
Can't feel anymore big contractions. 2
2nd Epidural because 1st one didn't work... it moved or something. The pain of the contractions was that bad! And I was 6 cm. 4:30
Felt pressure down there to push and Dr. checked.... and there she was!! 6
Started to push... my parents arrived. 6:20
My mom and Ryan held me legs... my dad took photos!! Yes... THE photos!!!hahaha
Then 6:58 Ryan caught little Riley coming out!!

Got to go for now... time for a Riley's breakfast!!!

3:15 am at the Hospital

Ryan here.

Well the whole theory with the snow storm bringing on labor seems to have worked. Last night Casey started her contractions. So the packing of the bag began. This and that made it's way in. We got in the car and made the trek. We arrived with a goal of a quick labor. Well, the doctor broke the news lightly. We began to walk around the hospital and give ourselves the self guided version of the tour we are supposed to have Tuesday. We ended up back in the room with me falling asleep. I am awakened by Casey's water "releasing", not breaking. As the contractions progressed, so did her urge for the DRUGS!

Now I sit next to Casey who is smiling and asking me the question; Why doesn't everybody get these drugs? She seems to be a big advocate for it. I think she might leave her teaching career and start selling epidural medicine.

So 3:15, we are doing well.

Yes! We brought Teddy!!
