Belly Dance

I was given ME time on Saturday!

In the morning, Ryan helped out as a teacher at Danbury Hospital's Daddy Boot Camp. He went as a newly experienced dad to help get soon to be dads prepared. Meanwhile I worked on UCONN stuff with Clint...almost done with our 6th year!

In the afternoon, (year 2x Ryan was extra nice to me!) I got to go Belly Dancing! I love it! It was great! It is so much fun with Homey! When I got home I put the skirt on Riley and she showed me some of her moves! However while in class I realized that I really am perfecting my figure 8 while standing and swaying with Riley... maybe I should wear the skirt around while I do this.

3 months

At three months...
* Riley is getting better...much better at lifting her head up.
* She can roll over both ways...but not on command.
* She is beginning to grab at things...esp. when she is laying down.
* Riley SMILES and COOS at us!
* She is memorized by the computer and TV.
* She sleeps great when we are out and about.
* She is giving cues when she is getting tired and if we read it right we can put her down without a fus.
* Riley loves to STAND...with our help.
* She wants to be held facing out to see the world.
* She also will wake up...even if she just went to sleep...as soon as I sit down to eat.
* Riley likes the feeling of grass.
* She is also starting to put everything in her mouth.
* She goes to sleep around 10 in her basket and wakes up to eat around 3 and stays in bed with us. Then when Ryan goes to work he changes her diaper and she is up for a little while playing in bed but usually falls back to sleep with me for a nice morning nap.
* She is starting to give me kisses while holding my face.
* She love to sit in our rocking chair reading books.
Riley really is a HAPPY Baby! :)

iChat

1st time on iChat and she was full of smiles. She loved looking at herself and she loved when Grampy played peek-a-boo with her. To many people video iChat is new... to Riley she will never know any different. If you have the capability on your computer and want to iChat with Riley let me know...she loves it! (esp. on these hot days we are stuck indoors in the AC)

Today was a trial run of our meetings next year. We had a little taste of video iChatting with Riley. Grampy and GranDanny will have to get used to Riley in the technology meetings next year... since starting in the fall I will be job sharing with my dad. We will both go back in the fall part of the day working with technology in education and part of the day having fun with Riley. How cool is that? We are both going to be getting the best of both worlds!

HOT HOT HOT

Today was way too HOT for us to play outside. It was so hot that Daddy, GG and Grampy (but not Ucle Spencer) got out of school early! We laid on the beach blanket inside instead to relax. Riley enjoyed her day in the AC. Look at all of her smiles!

She is getting so big! She recognizes our voices. We sing songs (You are my sunshine, Itsy Bitsy Spiders, BINGO but we spell Brady, ABCs...). She talk to me sometimes when I say I LOVE YOU. It is soooo cute! It is funny because she LOVES to stand and look out at the world...so curious. You have to catch her at the right time in order to cuddle...lucky for me she loves when I feed her! :) Her personality is really starting to come out. She is a morning person (as of now) I guess she takes after her daddy there. And if in doubt...find a mirror! She loves it! She is a good girl and we are enjoying every mi. with her (even the cranky times).

Prom

Little Emma went to the PROM! and is off to Catholic University in DC this fall. AHH!! I used to babysit this little girl... now she is going to be babysitting my little girl when she is home from college. WOW! I know I am making myself sound old here but time really does fly by! (didn't Emma and her friends look beautiful!)

One day Riley is going to go to the PROM and Emma is going to look back and say the same thing...

I found my feet!

Just so you all know...
I found my feet!

Riley loves to play with her feet now! She is trying to put them in her mouth. Maybe a few more times at Baby Yoga and she will be able to do it! Until then only her dad will be the one that has to keep taking his foot out of his mouth! (he forgot the diaper bag the other day... I have to put a little joke in about him cuz I still love him!)

Sarcastic Older Men

Clint came over to play yesterday...
And my mom went golfing with my Grampy today...
This is me watching house...
I love Sarcastic Older Men.

Partners in Crime

With the toughest Cop in Danbury (Brita not Jimmy), Andrew is going to have it easy getting out of any tough situations. Lucky for Riley he is going to need a parter in crime.

Looking at these photos makes it hard to believe what a difference 3 months can make.

I love to stand!

Look at me! I am only 3 months old and I am trying out my jumper because I love to stand up. But I think I am too small for it. I needed blankets inside to help me fill out the seat. I can't wait to look at this picture when I and too big for my jumper to see how much I have grown. But even though I may be tiny for it... I still loved my jumper! I can just use my toes to move around while in it. :)

My First Field Trip

Can you believe that a few hours after my surgery I went on my first FIELD TRIP!! My mom brought me to meet up with her 1st graders at Famous Pizza on their field trip to learn about pizza FRACTIONS! I had so much fun with all of the kids and my friends at Famous Pizza.

After Famous Pizza I went to Baby Yoga and my playgroup. I am telling you surgery doesn't stop me! (although I slept through most of it!)

My First Surgery

Thank you all for calling, emailing and checking up on me during my first surgery! Can you believe I had surgery before either one of my parents! I was such a good girl. I am recovering just fine. I was sooo brave! I think the hardest part was that I couldn't eat 4 hours before I got to the surgery place... and then we were there for 1 hour while we waited for the surgery to start. The surgery was only 10mins. long! My mom and dad felt like being away from me for 10mins. was way too long for them. I was so happy to see them after my surgery... esp. my mom because I knew she was ready to feed me! I am glad it is over and I am back to my happy self! Yeah! Thank you Dr. Baroody and all the nurses at Ridgefield Surgery Center!

Water Baby!

We have a WATER BABY on our hands! She loves the bath and now the pool!! We went to Kaelyn's Grandma's pool for Riley's first time swimming. She was all mad at first just watching the "BIG" kids swim. Then when we finally got in...she had the biggest smile and was sooo happy! She loved swimming. The few mins. in the pool tired her out for the rest of the afternoon. We can't wait to go swimming all summer at the pool! :)

Friday's "After School Special"

I am off to shoot a wedding today. Riley gets to hang out with GG and then Daddy today. She is so excited!! :)
But before I go I saw this little clip on Dane Sanders Blog (a photographer who is all about giving back to people) and wanted to share it with you.

In high school I received a C in photography. I like to think of the Pretty Women scene where she goes back after being rejected when trying to buy a gown with all the bags in her hands from her big shopping day. "Big mistake. Big. Huge! I have to go shopping now!" LOVE IT! Well... I have to go take photos now! :)

Don't let someone else's thoughts control you. Take your life into your own hands. The only person in charge of your life is YOU.
Thats my little "After School Special" blog post for Riley today.
Never too young to start teaching her life's little lessons.
